SMS Consent & Messaging Program

Kindred is a voice-first matchmaking app for iPhone, made by The Blind Date LLC. This page describes the one SMS program Kindred runs: how members give consent, exactly what we text them, and how they opt out.

1. What we send

Kindred sends two kinds of text messages, both strictly about the member's own account. We never send marketing or promotional texts.

Message frequency varies with the member's activity. Message and data rates may apply.

2. How members opt in

Opt-in happens in exactly one place: the phone-number screen of the Kindred iOS app, at account creation and sign-in. The member types their own mobile number and taps Send Code, with this disclosure displayed in full on the same screen:

By tapping Send Code, you agree to receive text messages from Kindred: a verification code to sign in, and updates about your matches and dates — introductions, call invites, reminders, and confirmed plans. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of updates, or HELP for help.

See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

No message of any kind is sent before that tap. Phone numbers enter our system no other way — no web forms, no purchased or imported lists, no third-party opt-ins. Consent to notifications is not a condition of purchasing anything.

3. The opt-in screen

5. Opting out and getting help

Reply STOP to any message to opt out of notifications at any time; reply HELP for help, or email support@akindredlove.com. Opting out does not close the member's account, but verification codes are required to sign in. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

6. Privacy

We do not share phone numbers, SMS consent, or any mobile opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party. Full details: our Privacy Policy (§4, Text messages) and Terms of Service (§13, SMS notifications).
